after having experienced christmas turning into valentines day, zhongli can't help his curiosity in coming back to the new neighborhood in the evening to see if anything changes then, too. to see all the romantic decorations replaced with spookier decor... he looks a little melancholic, picking up a little ghost sugar cookie as he assesses everything around them. but he smooths the expression over when he sees dan is there, too. ]

A domain of everchanging festivities. This one is quite exciting, don't you think? I wonder what the shirts mean... I'm not familiar with this sort of custom.

[ looking across the way at the human skeletons. ]

You mean trick or treating?

It's when you go up to people's houses dressed in scary costumes and say "trick or treat." Then they give you candy. Rinse and repeat.

I see. That's charming, something that a person I know would enjoy - especially the, ah, scary costumes.

So that's the intent of the skeletons being out. [ looks at the anatomically incorrect animal ones. stares at the cephalopod ones with disdain. ] ... although some of these could stand to be redone.

Trick or treating doesn't have to involve skeletons. They're just...common set dressing for the holiday.

...but yes, some of these are really disgraceful.

I see. Though I'm not sure if it's... intentional or sheer ineptitude, for the incorrect ones. Perhaps both.

But at least the festivities are enjoyable outside of such terrible renditions.

...I don't celebrate anything. But Halloween is the least miserable of them all.

Traditionally, you carve a face into it. It's called a jack o' lantern.

But you can do whatever you want with it.
