Well, we met the team leaders, finally. And we know why we're here, supposedly.

This isn't the first time the answers have been almost more useless than being left in the dark. What I'm more concerned about is why our leaders aren't supposed to be here either. Who really decided all of this?

It's possible they were lying, but...I'm not so sure. It seems like a stupid thing to lie about if they really do need our help for stuff around here. You'd think they'd tell us everything possible to endear themselves and get us to agree. But you're right. It leaves us exactly where we were before. I'm going to talk to Phoenix again tomorrow to see if they're willing to answer more questions when it's not so...you know. Public.

Yeah. The way Phoenix made it sound was that it's almost more like a popularity contest. You do more and get your name out there and the people we're supposedly helping begin supporting us. Which...kind of goes against the whole idea of being a hero, I think, but nothing about this place has made a lot of sense to start with.

If they just wanted to outsource all their problem-fixing, they could've had us do a stupid competition even with all our powers. Handicapping us like this makes it feel more like a game to them.
I'm used to being outsourced. That's sort of what we're meant for. But we've never had to be in a situation we couldn't use our training or our powers or our weapons. So what gives? What makes this place so special the rules can get changed?

It's possible. The worst part is that it makes sense and it's a strategy that could probably work.
