[ anyway. so at some point after the investigation danny might find himself on the beach!! he might be wandering...

and he will see a body just laying down in the sand, unmoving. approach? ]

[ looks at the body for a little while. then approaches and sits down next to it. ]

The newspaper's been pretty reliable so far. If it missed reporting a death, I might just have to sue them.

[resumed]

[ he's kind of curled up with his hood up, shame in one arm and his phone in his hand. he doesn't seem to mind that danny is here at least even if he doesn't look at him. ]

Could always sue them anyway. Might mean getting to see the writers face to face.

I doubt they'd allow it before the full moon.

[ he sits and shifts awkwardly for a few moments ]

[ there's a noise that's kind of agreement to the first part, at least. and he's silent for a few moments before he sighs, slightly shudder-y and mostly exhausted. ]

Idiot was so convinced he'd be next out of us that I wonder if someone else gave him a hint he would be. [ i really wanted to be wrong. i asked him to make it not be a reality. ] Whenever we get all of them back I'm kicking his ass.

Seems pretty stupid, to tell someone you're gonna kill them ahead of time. ...cruel, too.

[ he is going to come back to the sardines actually god. but he shrugs. ]

I don't know. It is, but in a way it could also be a kindness if you want to make sure the other person's affairs are in order. It's always harder when people leave without notice.

[ he's still thumbing through his phone though, and he appears to be reading an online copy of the paper with the announcements and the horoscopes. ]

No idea. I don't actually know what happened. I just know that I'm going to have to find them tomorrow and vote for them either way and it's gonna suck. That's...the problem, you know? No matter how nice they may or may not have made it or if they had told him beforehand or if it was a team that needed to fulfill a requirement, he's still dead and we still have to find and kill them, too.

Then again it's harder to justify it as a kindness when he was being eaten by tigers, so.

Paper said his remains were found in the tiger exhibit.

[ they keep getting worse. what if he was still alive when-- he immediately aborts from that thought. ]

...we'll have to get a closer look tomorrow to determine everything. Just like every week.

[ slowly reaches out a hand to offer nico a pat, a hug, anything--

but then stops and pulls his hand back to himself. ]

[ listen, he's half-buried in sand and in his hoodie but he does see the movement from the corner of his eye, eyebrows scrunching together when he then sees the hand divert from its initial path. what was that about...?

it does mean he's still for a few moments before he props himself up a little taller. shame turns its attention to danny, chirruping softly both as a greeting and as a question. ]

I get that laying in the sand hoping the ocean will swallow me isn't exactly effective, at least. [ shitty sense of humor, again. ] ...it just feels weird because I know who I'd normally talk to about something like this, but. Sort of hard now.

[ then again i'm guessing reigen and ace both would just let me do this my way. kind of annoying of them. he brings a hand up to scrub at his face though. ]

There was a fight in the zoo cafe last night. Furniture was overturned, scratched up, there was some blood...Jolyne found a bullet in the wall too.

...Lillium was probably there fighting off his killer.

[ that's fine, shame appreciates this anyway. and nico just frowns at the news. ]

He's a trained combatant, so I'd be more surprised if he wasn't. [ he pauses to think. ] Just a bullet, no gun?

If there was a gun, we didn't see it.

...then again, there was a lot of fire and smoke in there, so. It's not implausible.

Fire set? Did you guys find a source?

I'm not sure. Jolyne was looking into the fire more than I was, but it looked like the fire was just on the furniture, not actually burning it or anything.

[ he's thinking this over. ]

We'll probably have to go back there and do a second sweep then. [ annoying... ] And once I check Lillium's body for burns that'll help determine a few things, too.

You remember I pieced together a heart last weekend, right? [ terrible joke again. ] I can't shy away from stuff just because it's gruesome either. But then again I can already hear him bitching at me for doing it myself.
