Definitely not. [ what the hell happened to you guys. ] After we activated our smoke pellets we ran for our car and it brought us back here. [ gestures to his very all-black, non-paint or stringed self. ]
...no. We actually had to work out a different route out of the casino because of the smoke. That's how we ended up at the garage entrance that was apparently rigged with a giant bucket of paint.
[ ...okay that shouldn't be as funny as it is, but he does have to stifle a quick laugh. ]
Sorry. It was a last-minute choice to get out of the bar. If we'd known you were close by maybe we would've rethought it. [ he says "maybe" like he's genuinely unsure, because who's to say how the mindset would react in there. ]
Whisper went a different route than me and Hans, but I don't think anything was rigged? [ not that he knows. ] ...is it me, or did it kind of feel like we were being pranked half the time?
[ he scowls as nico laughs because THE NICKELODEON SLIMENING WASN'T FUNNY!!!! ]
...yeah. All their guns shot silly string or paintballs. And this one guy was just...basically treating it like a game. Another guard had to remind him to stay in character.
[ okay but like danny wouldn't laugh if the situation was reversed. ]
I got bonked in the head with a rubber axe. [ tiredly. he's been having a lot of conflicting (brooding) thoughts about this heist, but now that he's talking about it on this line of thought he's realizing there is something weirdly out of place with it. ]
...I'm starting to think we should have checked the animals closer and see if they were real or not.
My friend's dog is usually the size of a battle tank, but most mortals see her as a standard poodle. There are ways to have our perspective messed with.
[ the funniest thing in the world is danny telling him all of this because it's so different from what he experienced that it takes him out of his brooding space. ]
...we didn't really run into that many of them. They were around, but most of them didn't even talk to us. We got in almost too easily. [ so. no opportunities to really listen to them and how they were behaving. ]
Um. Sorry? [ he thinks? ] All three of us went into separate entrances but I didn't hear much about any kind of problems. Besides the traps in the water, I guess. And that theater that locked in all three of us.
[ there were other little things but now he's like "huh maybe that's why." ]
Seriously? [ hey. hey. why didn't he get to fight. he's good at fighting. ] I followed a giraffe for a while and had breakfast at a buffet to eavesdrop on them and a red panda. There was the axe trap further in, but the axes were fake. And I think Whisper and Hans might've run into the security rabbit earlier, but I didn't seem them until you guys tripped the power.
[ he would bite through a concrete block right now if he could ]
We stole an employee's outfit and tried to sneak in through an access stairwell, but security called our bluff and apparently, all the weapons we picked out from our warehouse were useless toys!
What in Hades...[ hold on. wait a minute. he really is just keeping his hand on his face while he processes all of this and has to. think really fucking hard. ] Did you guys at least get your kits from the warehouse besides your extra items?
[ he is really trying to think why these were so different. ]
...I guess the difference is we didn't use our weapons. I had a dagger, but I didn't have to bother. Whisper had an emp but we didn't need it. And Hans grabbed the smoke pellets and those worked perfectly fine. Also why didn't you just go through the front doors or through the parking garage?
[ ...genuinely, he is starting to think about how they really were able to stroll right in with the crowd and nobody seemed bothered that two furries and a teenager were there. ]
It's not a bad line of thinking. If you're looking for a treasure, you'd think to sneak in through restricted areas. [ but. ] The power came back on right as we got close enough to snag ours, so we had to figure out how to redirect the lasers, get out of the bar and leave the casino. Hans hit a guard with a chair, I think. It was hard to see with the smoke after a bit.
That's all we got, too. Did you get a map from a leopard?
No idea if the lasers would've hurt us. Whisper and I reflected them with our mirrors so Hans could grab the treasure and get out. [ judging by the tone, by that point he was kind of exasperated and just wanted to get the treasure and go. ] I wasn't about to test it out though, but going off of what you've been saying somehow I doubt it.

Though I am surprised we beat you back.

They didn't seem to be trying too hard to make it all seem really real, though.

Lucky you.
We had to fight through like six guards. Minimum.

Okay. The blackout allowed us to sneak into the bar and find the treasure before we were spotted. How did you get arrested? From that fight?

[ except for the EMP ]

...wait, lasers? There were lasers there?! Like, actual, dangerous lasers that can hurt you?
