If all goes well, maybe? But you've got to account for things like the sudden weather changes, other pirate crews, sea monsters, marines--all kinds of obstacles out on the sea. Not to mention making sure you're on the right course, since you're going off the island's magnetic fields to find 'em...

You can either buy one wholesale, but a lot of pirate crews just get them custom made from shipwrights. There's a few islands that are known for their ship building skills. Though ours had plenty of shipwrights to make our ships anyway, since you gotta account for ship damage and repairs while out at sea anyway, especially with such a huge crew.
