...it's kind of the opposite, where I'm from. We have--well, there was me as the hero, but we didn't really have villains. At least, no one called them that. We had ghosts. And some of them kind of act like villains, but a lot of the time they just get treated like...a natural disaster, almost.
Well, there's not really anything else I can do with them. A lot of the time they just come back to cause more havoc and we have to do the whole song and dance again. But there's not really a whole lot in the human world that can contain them. And the things that can are...less than ideal.
Getting trapped inside a vacuum cleaner, getting stuck inside a thermos, getting strapped down to a table for dissection, getting kidnapped by the government so they can find the best way to destroy you...
...oh right, and sometimes a stupid clown might make you join his circus.
Oh. Wow, all of those are bad. [...] Especially the clown. I think I'd prefer death.
-- But you just send them home though, right? So... [that makes him okay in her book, if he does. even if they're pests. nimona is the type to take spiders outside in a plastic cup instead of squishing them.]
He spent a lot of time having people look at him like he was just, you know, a stupid raccoon. Like he wasn't worth anything just because he wasn't human.
People thought he was - a natural disaster. Like a ghost. But he wasn't. The first thing he said to me when... [a pause.] He said if I wanted a place to go, his crew was a bunch of weirdos and I'd fit right in.
... I guess I don't really know where I'm going with this. [just, maybe she doesn't want people to forget that. maybe danny will appreciate that, because he doesn't hurt ghosts, he takes them home. she doesn't know.]
...that was really nice of him. To offer that to you, I mean.
[ he's honestly not quite sure what to say about that. it's certainly not a side of rocket he ever encountered, but offering something like that...they must've been even closer than danny thought. ]
Yeah. I didn't expect it like, at all. But he just offered like it was nothing.
[it was kind of him, to offer that sort of thing to someone he barely knew a week. she's not sure if that counts as close, she just thinks it makes him a good person.]
Anyway. It sucks that he's gone, and it sucks that she's going to be, and I'm not gonna just let it go.

Everybody always needs a bad guy. [she shifts.] You don't gotta talk about it if you don't want.

Ghosts? Like - the spooky kind? [what other kind is there nimona]

[ what other kind IS there ]

[she will not be explaining]
So do you like, whack ghosts?
no subject
No, I usually just stop them from wrecking the city and then send them back home.

sorry she's stupid]
... That's cooler, though. The just sending them home part.

...yeah. I mean, I put them in the thermos for a little bit, but only to make it easier to transport them.
no subject
... Cool. [she was not expecting this conversation to go this way.] Not a lot of people would do that.

... Did you ever talk to Rocket?

Why?
