The setup here's a little different than the ones I've been to, but I visited some with my mom when I was younger? Our van broke down in this small town on the way to Albuquerque. The town actually used to be called Hot Springs, but it changed its name to win a radio contest decades ago.

Truth or Consequences. The people in the state tend to just call it T or C, though - it's mainly people who are just passing through who call it by its whole name.

Right? I thought it was kinda funny as a kid. I always wanted to listen to the show, but it was off the radio way before I was born. I think it ended up on TV eventually, too, but that also went off the air before I was born. The town's the only reason I knew the show existed.
I don't even know what that show is. But of all the shows to name your town after, that one's gotta be one of the best. Like, the name is so cool on its own that it's worth it. Not like if you named a town I Love Lucy or something.
